Born in South Wales, UK, Amy, the youngest of three sisters, has been surrounded by music and instruments from an early age. She was entered in to her first talent contest aged six, singing “Somewhere over the Rainbow”, terrifying moments as she could barely reach the microphone but also turned out to be exhilarating. This marked the beginning of her love of music and performance. Inspired by such a musical upbringing, Amy studied classical piano and singing and developed an intimate love affair with Jazz in her teens. A difficult and mature genre for this modern generation but one that touched Amy very deeply.

Amy went on to graduate from Leeds College of Music with a BA (Hons) Degree in music specialising in Jazz. There she studied under tutors such as Graham Hearn, Lee Gibson, and Tina May. She was a keen participant in many different musical workshops led by musicians such as: Jullian Joseph, Daryl Sherman, Alan Barnes and Jim mullen.

This solid grounding in Jazz and a voice that has been described as ‘silky-smooth’ caught the attention of some of the best Jazz musicians currently working in the UK and saw her contacts book filling up with names of the great and the good of Jazz. A meteoric rise in status and sheer talent has led to Amy working with such notable musicians as Pianist, Bassist and Clarinettist The Cottle Brothers, Drummer Ian Thomas, harmonica player Julian Jackson, saxophone maestros Alex Garnett, Dave O’Higgins and Alan Barns and trumpet player Damon Brown.

Amy has performed at many different venues and events across the UK, including theatres, blues bars, cathedrals and private functions. Amy has also been a member of the BBC Chorus of Wales performing with the BBC Orchestra of Wales at the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea & at St David’s Hall, Cardiff.

Amy is very passionate about worthwhile charities & has involved herself in many charity events over the past 20 years, including ‘Jazz Heritage Wales’ which is based in Swansea.
Although Jazz has been her first love, she also indulges in soul, RnB & Pop, always keen to fuse various styles producing her own fresh and silky sound.

That said, Amy released her debut album in 2012 called ‘A Sin With Love’, in which all the songs were self composed. Because of the great many musical influences in Amy’s life over the years, the album is a crossover of styles, mixing Jazz, pop & soul together… even a little bit of a Classical sound can be heard on the album.Since releasing her album, Amy has performed at Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff & has also appeared & performed on many different radio stations in the UK & Europe, including Radio Ara, in Luxembourg, & BBC Radio Wales. Amy has also performed in front of the ‘Pop Diva’ herself, Bonnie Tyler.

More recently, Amy has collaborated with an Independent Record Label based in New York & has released 2 singles with them. These singles have been very well received & has given Amy a front page & double inside spread feature in the South Wales Evening Post.

Amy’s brand new single ‘In My Mind’, is noticeably different from her other songs, proving a continual growth, expansion and open-mindedness in her musical journey. In the singles first week of released, ‘In My Mind’, written by Amy & produced by Kevin Jones, has already reached Number 4 in the ‘World Music Stage’ Top 10 radio show countdown. The song is available to download now from all major outlets, such as iTunes/Amazon/CD Baby/Google Play and many more!
